Geocaching - for all of you that are new to the sport - is an exciting pursuit game of hi-tech treasure hunting especially for GPS users, using their geocache mapping capabilities for finding geocache sites known as caches!
For anyone interested in the great outdoors and owning a GPS, geocaching mapping can be such a challenge. Here on the Lleyn Peninsula, Wales we have a variety of caches, many within a couple of miles only ,from our cottage rental.
Participating in a cache hunt is a excellent way to take advantage of the wonderful scenery and the locality of Snowdonia and the Lleyn.
The Lleyn with its internationally recognized sailing waters offers all the water sports you could possibly want.With great beaches locally, most within a short 15min drive from our holiday cottage, you don't have to travel far, with Snowdonia National Park around an hour's drive away .For the geocaching enthusiasts - there is even a geocache site in the main town of Pwllheli with even more caches on our doorstep. The area offers unlimited locations for setting up new caches on the map of the Lleyn!

Kanga Rhiw Kash N 52° 49.971 W 004° 37.529 - - British Grid: SH 23236 29379 ... "Cache is located on the top plateau of Mynydd Rhiw, overlooking Hells Mouth. It is reached via a short uphill climb on a grassy track and heather moorland. Lovely on a summers evening as the sun goes down.The cache is in a plastic tub. It contains the usual variety of goodies and a disposable camera to record your visit."
Tin Man N 52° 51.100 W 004° 28.647 British Grid: SH 33278 31117
" The cache is hidden close to the Tin Man sculpture on the headland overlooking Llanbedrog beach on the Llyn Peninsula in North Wales.
The sculpture can be reached directly from the beach up a steep climb of 200 steps or so. From the beach slipway go right past the small cottage and the path heads up through the trees.Cache is in a plastic box wrapped in a green plastic bag. Contains logbook and many various items for exchange."

"The Cache is located on Mynydd Mawr overlooking Bardsey Isalnd on the furthest most point of the Lleyn Peninsula. Not to be missed is visit to the view point.The Cache is a medium sized plastic type container, containing the usual cache goodies. Take a camera with you for the fantastic view ( weather permitting )."

"A plastic welsh tobacco tin on the coastal path at Porthdinllaen Lifeboat Station. This place was on the shortlist for the ferry to Ireland but Holyhead won. Good news as this is a lovely area.Thought we'd take you to one of our favourite spots where you can watch a variety of sea birds and seals. In fact, if the tide is out, the seals will be basking on the rocks.The walk is approx. 40 minutes. You can either go along the sandy beach (path down at far end of carpark) or through the golf course."
