Anglesey Sea Zoo
Anglesey Sea Zoo family attraction is located around an hours drive from Cae Garw self catering farmhouse and barn conversion.
Being the biggest aquarium in Wales , the Anglesey Sea Zoo is one of North Wales Top Ten attractions and a great family day out. Over 150 fascinating species are kept here, from Conger Eels, Stingrays, Seahorses, Octopuses to a life size model of a basking shark.
This marine education centre boasts a shallow shark pool with a grated walkway over the top to allowing visitors to see the underlying sharks. You can dive without getting wet in the Virtual Scuba Simulator and the daily fish feeds will keep the kids entertained!
The Anglesey Sea Zoo is also involved in many conservation projects - since 1989 the lobster hatchery have released over 3000 juvenile lobsters to counteract local dwindling population. The zoo is one of the few places in the world that has been able to successfully breed and sustain native short snouted seahorse.
Other attractions at Anglesey Sea Zoo include a crazy golf course, adventure playground, bouncy castle, and remote controlled boats. Families can enjoy the outside seating with views over the Snowdonia mountain range, and the award winning cafe sells locally produced food. At the gift shop - you can even buy your own pearl oyster.
Open daily from 10:30am until 5:00pm, with the last entry into the aquarium at 4:00pm. All standard tickets are valid for 7 days.
